Alex Armstrong
Born and raised in London, Ontario and although having lived in the “Gorges” city of Ithaca, New York as well as experienced travel and discovery is always happy to come “home” to Canada.
Her affection for art began at a young age and she continued developing artistic interests throughout life, but only recently began selling her work again. Alex studied at H.B. Beal Art in London which was an amazing experience. Her first show was the Beal Emerging Artist Exhibition and will always be remembered fondly because she received a call shortly after the show asking to buy her submission (a well-worn tennis shoe). Since that time she has participated in countless art shows, classes, seminars, events and workshops and has been commissioned for many pieces that are located as far away as Kansas, USA, Oklahoma, USA and Glasgow, Scotland. She discovered abstract art after visiting some modernist exhibitions in Toronto and rarely looked back. Alex is mostly inspired by the Painters Eleven, especially Alexandra Luke and William Ronald. Jackson Pollock’s vision and works will always be some of her favourites.
She regularly has work on display at local establishments throughout the London, Ontario area. She has been a member of the Brush and Palette Club since 2013 and was a member of the Lambeth Art Association from 2010 to 2019. Availability as well as price and locations will be updated on her webpage.
Alex participates in the London Fringe Visual Art show and her art was chosen to advertise the event in 2019:
