Dorothy (d hunter) Adams
Paint something you love is the principle guiding my brush.
Light, shadow, and how they affect the nuances of the human face, and everything around have captivated my imagination for years. Painting is my love - nature - wildlife - still life; - anything God has given us to enjoy, though portraits are my passion. I love the challenge portraiture provides me. Every face is beautiful.
I was born and raised in the lovely city of Chatham in Southern Ontario. Exhibiting talent in sketching when quite young, I was given my first set of Windsor Newton paints at the age of seven. Amazingly, there are still a few workable oil tubes from that beloved set.
I work primarily in oils and watercolour; however I simply love graphite and the challenge the mediums give me. Persistenc, practise and imagination hones creativity.
