Brush and Palette Club

Ron's medium of choice is watercolour with a focus on landscapes, seascapes and people. He is a firm believer that to be a better artist one needs to constantly improve drawing skills by doing life drawing as much as possible. He religiously completes a 20 minute life drawing every day and has done so since 1984. Recently, he has incorporated his passion for golf and course scenery, both real and imaginary, into his watercolour landscapes. Ron joined the Brush and Palette Club in 2008 and for 6 years was a co-convenor of the Club's Workshop program. Ron's work has won awards at the annual Brush & Palette Art shows.

Born and raised in Tillsonburg, Ontario, Ron graduated from Annandale High and later from Mohawk College, Hamilton in Business Administration. He worked 34 years for 3M Canada and a spin off company Imation Canada holding various positions related to sales, marketing and project management in Toronto, Calgary and London. While introducing the 3M Adhesive Transfer Tape and Applicator Gun to picture framers, artists, photographers and art supply dealers across Canada, Ron began to develop an interest in art. In 1984, encouraged by fellow 3Mer, artist Ken MacFarlane, CSPWC and Brampton artist Jack Reid, CSPWC, he enrolled in evening drawing and painting courses at Sheridan College, Brampton and Oakville campuses. Ron relocated to London Ontario in 1988.
